GEO Natural Hazards Small Project: October 24

We will soon be moving on from the Natural Hazard workbook and onto the Metropolises workbook. The small project is connected to both. Students will choose a major world city (a metropolis), and explain its particular natural hazard issues. Next, they will come up with a plan to improve how their city can improve its planning and response, both before and during a disaster. Students can use the internet for some of their research, but the Natural Hazard workbook also provides a lot of information. There will be at least one class period for students to plan/research. If not done in class, students will have to complete the project for homework. Due date: Monday, October 24 (Day 5).
