Last week, HIS students started working on a French Revolution project. It is a two-project. Students need to roleplay a French peasant from the Third Estate that is meeting at the Estates General with KIng Louis XVI and the other estates in 1789. They are supposed to write a letter detailing how difficult life is for most people in France, and request three things the King should change to make their lives better. Because they suspect the King will probably ignore their requests, the group is also secretly producing a political cartoon criticizing the King more directly and/or aggressively demanding rights or freedoms they don't have. On April 23, from their desks, each group will read their letter and show their cartoon to the rest of the class, before handing in their project to the teacher.
